About Brandy Mount

Many interesting plants for sale

For a town centre garden we are lucky to have over an acre. The soil is rich, but lying on chalk dries out quickly and particularly suits bulbs. We hold National Collections of Snowdrops and Daphnes. These grow well in dappled shade of large trees. The garden is informal except for areas around the house where the terrace is planted with alpines, species of geraniums and the more difficult dwarf daphnes. In all we now grow well over a hundred different kinds of daphne. There are also a good number of species paeonies, auriculas, dwarf narcissi, saxifrages and primulas, including P.allionii and P.marginata forms. These primulas are in the Alpine House and are in flower in February.
